Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
Trinder is a trading simulator for learning, provided by Vanquish (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Trinder app and this website, how we use it, who processes it for us, and the choices you have. Vanquish is the controller of your personal information. You can reach us at privacy@trinder.app.
What we collect in the app
Account information. Your email address and password. Your password is stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider, so we can’t see it. We also record when your account was created and when you last signed in.
Profile and preferences. The first name you give us, and your answers during setup: what brings you to Trinder, your experience level, your trading rhythm, the markets you’re interested in, your idea risk filter, your preferred perspective and your motion setting.
Practice activity. The ideas you save or pass, and the practice trades you open, change and close, with their amounts, simulated prices, stops, targets and times. Practice trades use virtual money only.
Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP addresses, device and app details sent with each request, and request times, to operate and secure the service.
On your device, Trinder keeps your sign-in session in secure storage (the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore) and a small flag in app preferences.
What we collect on this website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking, and doesn’t load anything from other websites. Our website host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser details and the pages requested, to deliver and protect the site.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect your location, contacts, photos, payment details or real brokerage information.
- We don’t use advertising, tracking or third-party analytics, and we don’t sell or share your information for advertising.
- We don’t send your information to AI services.
How we use it
We use your information only to provide Trinder:
- to create, secure and run your account, including confirmation and password-reset codes sent by email;
- to save your preferences and your practice account, and show your ideas and history;
- to answer you when you contact us;
- to keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
If you’re in the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (running your account and the app), our legitimate interests (security, preventing abuse and answering messages), and complying with the law where it applies.
We send only service emails, such as codes and messages about your account. We don’t send marketing email.
Who processes it for us
These providers process information only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us:
| Provider | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase, Inc. | Hosts our database and accounts (sign-in) | London, United Kingdom |
| Resend | Sends confirmation and password-reset emails | United States |
| Vercel Inc. | Hosts this website | Global network, based in the United States |
Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States. When information is transferred outside the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards in our agreements with these providers, such as standard contractual clauses.
Apple and Google run their app stores under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account information, preferences and practice activity while your account exists.
- When you delete your account, your account, profile, practice account, positions and saved ideas are deleted from our database straight away. Copies in our providers’ backups are removed as those backups expire, within 30 days.
- Server and email delivery logs are kept by our providers for a short period, and no longer than 30 days.
- If you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as we need it to help you.
How we protect it
Information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Database rules ensure that each account can read and change only its own information, and your sign-in session on your device is kept in the system’s secure storage.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time in the app: You → Delete account. You can also ask us to delete it.
- Reset your practice account in the app: You → Reset practice account.
- Change your name and preferences at any time on the You tab.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your information, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email privacy@trinder.app from the address on your account. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). In the European Economic Area, you can complain to your local data-protection authority. We’d appreciate the chance to help first.
Age
Trinder is intended for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, for example a new kind of information or a new provider, we’ll also tell you in the app.
